The music I loved – like this track – never really caught on in the club where I dj’d, so I had a selection of records that I had just for me, songs that made me happy, songs that revitalized me when I was down. I’m not a religious person, but this song really spoke to me.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I spent an hour in a record store in Montreal looking for this – and another – song. the other song, Gypsy Woman, was easy to find, this one, not so easy. I even tried singing the “boop….boop…” part to the guy in the store’s dj booth. Finally, when it came on, it was like “THAT’s it!”. Love this track.

I’ve always loved this song. And I’ve always kind of liked this version – maybe it’s not the truest version, but I think it’s great.
